an area which neither belongs to the urban districts, nor to the rural province, but which is something in between, something like an "urban province". The film draws a quite personal portrait of five protagonists who are all part of the social structure of Durchfahrtsland (Remote Area), but somehow live on the edge, each one in his own way...
